An experiment in manipulating a found photograph. Using a flatbed copier I printed the book pages by moving the image during the scan, and feeding printed sheets through the copier multiple times. Using these techniques I build up density and complexity from a simple starting point. Additional color and structure is provided using flash gels in honor of the couple's portrait session.

All I know of Tina and her prom date (or dance partner? a friend?) is what the photograph provides. The photograph literally fell out of a book I bought second-hand from Half Price Books in Austin. I think it was "A Moveable Feast" by Ernest Hemingway, which I read before my first visit to Paris France.
